|Cable cutting or stripping details for W5SWL* connectors|
(*W5SWL only, other brand connectors should be looked up on Google)
Please note - the information provided is only a starting reference for the cuts, each person will do their cuts a bit different with different lengths, as such these numbers are only intended for general guidance and approximation so don't stress about the lengths being just perfect. PL-259 details are somewhat generic in nature so if you need that let us know as we don't include that info in the chart.
If you have never made of up connectors before, we suggest YouTube as you will find a great many videos there on both clamp and crimp style connectors. Most are very similar in design, pieces and assembly. If you are assembling a N type clamp connector don't overlook a video on BNC clamp connectors for example. We do not provide assembly instructions. We do suggest you do a trial fitting before soldering anything and make sure you have it right.
Clamp connectors will be your hardest to assemble if you have never done them, RadioWorld published a nice general tutorial on assembling clamp connectors, copy and paste this URL to see it, https://www.radioworld.com/news-and-business/installing-connectors-the-right-way
* C Length is seldom used, will only be noted if used. D Length is shield or braid and may not be required. All measurements are in inches
