RF Connector Caps & Dust Covers — This section contains protective caps and covers for RF coaxial connectors including N, UHF, BNC, TNC, SMA, DIN and Type F interfaces.

Connector caps are primarily used to keep dirt, dust and other contaminants away from exposed RF contacts when equipment or cables are not connected. Some products are flexible vinyl covers, while others are metal caps with retaining chains.

A dust cap is not automatically a weatherproof seal. Many flexible covers are intended mainly for dust and contaminant protection and should not be relied upon by themselves to moisture-proof an outdoor RF connection.

Some metal caps may also be available in shorting or non-shorting configurations. For test equipment and other sensitive RF applications, verify whether the cap electrically shorts the center conductor to the connector body before use.

Always match the cap to the actual connector family and connector gender or body size. Similar-looking RF connectors may require different covers.
