Connectors - MC MCX MMCX

MC / MCX / MMCX Connectors - MC, MCX and MMCX are miniature RF connector families designed for applications where space is limited. These small connectors are commonly found in compact radios, GPS equipment, wireless devices, antennas, test equipment and other miniature RF applications.

MCX (Micro Coaxial) connectors are 50 Ohm miniature snap-on RF connectors. Their push-on/snap coupling allows a connection to be made without a threaded coupling nut while requiring considerably less space than larger RF connector families.

MMCX (Micro-Miniature Coaxial) connectors are smaller than MCX connectors and also use a snap-on coupling system. MMCX connectors are commonly used where very small size and low weight are important.

Important: MC, MCX and MMCX are different connector types and should not be assumed to mate with one another. Carefully compare the connector type and dimensions when selecting a replacement connector or adapter.

These miniature connectors are commonly identified as Plug and Jack rather than simply Male and Female. For standard MCX and MMCX connectors, the plug has the male RF center contact (pin), while the jack has the female RF center contact (socket). Connector terminology can vary with other miniature connector families, so always verify both the connector family and center-contact configuration before ordering.
