Tax Exempt Purchase

If you are a purchaser who qualifies for tax-exempt purchases, we are happy to help. Please follow the procedure below to establish tax-exempt status with W5SWL Electronics.

  1. Place your first order through our website normally. Applicable sales tax will be collected when the order is placed.
  2. After placing the order, contact us using the "Contact Us" form on our website and let us know that you are requesting tax-exempt status and the basis for your exemption.
  3. We will email you the appropriate Arkansas tax-exemption form for completion and our records. You will need to complete and sign the form and return it to us by email, along with a copy of your resale permit, government or school tax-exemption document, or other official documentation supporting your tax-exempt status. Government agencies, schools, and similar organizations should obtain the appropriate documentation from their accounting or administrative office if necessary.
  4. Once we receive and review the required documentation, we will determine whether the tax-exempt request can be approved.
  5. If approved, we will send an account-creation invitation through our website. Please create the account using the email address associated with your order and the tax-exempt purchaser's name. Tax-exempt orders must be placed while logged in to this approved account.
  6. After the account has been created, we will apply the approved tax-exempt status to the account and refund the sales tax collected on the qualifying order associated with your request.
  7. For future tax-exempt purchases, you must log in to the approved tax-exempt account before placing the order. Orders should be placed under the approved tax-exempt purchaser's name. Your individual name may also be included when needed for internal delivery or routing.
Please note: Tax-exempt status is subject to our review and approval of the required documentation. Establishing tax-exempt status does not provide a general refund of sales tax from earlier orders. The sales-tax refund described above applies only to the qualifying order associated with the tax-exemption request and approval process, and cannot be applied to other previous orders.
