Adapters - QMA SMB SMC

QMA / SMB / SMC RF Adapters

This section contains RF adapters that have a QMA, SMB or SMC connector on one side. These adapters are used to connect equipment or coaxial cables having one of these compact RF connector types to another RF connector family.

QMA adapters use the quick-lock QMA interface, which provides fast connection and disconnection without the threaded coupling used by SMA. QMA is commonly used in 50 Ohm wireless and communications applications.

SMB adapters use the small snap-on SMB interface. SMB connectors are available in both 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm versions, so impedance should be verified when selecting an adapter. On a standard SMB interface, the Plug has a female center contact (socket or basket), while the Jack has a male center contact (pin).

SMC adapters use the threaded SMC interface, which provides a secure connection in a compact RF connector. SMC connectors are commonly used in 50 Ohm communications, instrumentation and other RF applications.

Important: QMA, SMB and SMC are different connector families and are not interchangeable. Plug and Jack describe the mating configuration of a connector, while Pin and Socket describe the center RF contact. Do not assume that the relationship between Plug/Jack and Pin/Socket is identical across different RF connector families.

When selecting an adapter, verify the exact connector family, mating interface, center contact, impedance and the connector type required on the opposite side.
