Type N Connectors - The N or Type N connector uses a 5/8"-24 UNEF thread. Type N connectors depending on brand and specs can easily excede 18 GHz on maximum freqency testing. Maximum PEAK power of a Type N connector refers to the break down of the air space by the center RF pin where AVERAGE power is determined by heating of the RF pin and is a function of frequency. Type N connectors are available in 50 and 75 Ohm variants, it is suggested that you not mix them. Type N connectors are also commonly available in Reverse Polarity and Left Hand Thread. Type N connectors are also available in a Precision Interface will allows more stable and repeatable performance.
